At The Retreat House, we believe that nature has something to teach us, especially when we slow down long enough to listen. In 2026, we are embracing a new format of retreats and offerings that are shaped around stepping into seasons, allowing retreat rhythms to mirror the nature’s invitation to grow, release, rest, and renew.
Why seasons? Because creation has always been one of God’s first classrooms. Long before words were written, God spoke through the rising and falling of the sun, the turning of leaves, the quieting of winter, and the bursting promise of spring. Scripture affirms this truth beautifully:
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1, NIV).
Seasons remind us that life with God is not linear- it is cyclical, purposeful, and held within His timing.

As we enter this new retreat rhythm, we will let each season guide our formation:
Winter invites rest and deep listening.
Spring encourages new beginnings and hope.
Summer teaches rootedness, abundance, and joy.
Fall models release, gratitude, and trust.
Throughout the year, we will also be shaping spaces of delight and savoring- two spiritual postures we believe are deeply needed in a hurried world. Scripture paints delight as a holy practice:
“Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4, NIV).
Savoring calls us to pay attention to what is good, true, and beautiful. This helps us practice the presence of God in ordinary moments, from delighting in our marriages and parenting to savoring friendships and the nearness of God Himself.
Delight slows us down.
Savoring roots us.
Together, they form a pathway to joy.
Nature is constantly teaching us these truths. Trees do not rush their growth. Flowers bloom in their appointed time. The seasons never question their purpose. As followers of Christ, we have an opportunity to learn from the pace and wisdom of creation and to pay attention, to partner with God’s rhythms, and to let our spiritual formation unfold slowly and meaningfully.
In 2026, our retreats will follow this natural arc. Expect offerings that align with the themes of each season, practices that help you attune to what God is doing in your life, and spaces designed for rest, reflection, and renewal.
We hope these seasonal rhythms invite you to breathe deeper, listen closer, and live more intentionally with God, with yourself, and with the people entrusted to you. And as always, we are here for you. If you need care please reach out to hello@theretreathousememphis.com and we will get you connected with a practitioner that can walk with you along your journey.
