Offerings at The Retreat House
Silent Retreats
Silent retreats are a time to engage in the practice of silence alongside others. During this time you can journal, pray, walk the grounds, read, rest, or really do whatever you feel like your heart and soul need.
We will begin the time at 9:30 with a teaching and a guide to help lead you into the silence. The half day retreats create space to be with God and with yourself among others.

Coffee, tea, and light snacks will be available. We will close out the silence at 12:30 with a time for sharing, and we will enjoy lunch together from 1:00-1:30.

Types of Rest Workshop
time for moms & caregivers to exhale
Now that you’ve made it through the fullness of summer, it’s time to pause and breathe. This workshop is designed to help you discover the kind of rest your soul is truly longing for and how to create rhythms that support it in your everyday life.

Led by Jill Stockburger, you’ll not only learn about the different types of rest but also engage in a meaningful art activity to help you process and embody what you’re learning. Come ready to slow down, reflect, and be refreshed in both heart and mind.

Somatic Regulation Workshop
Join us for this special offering led by Dr. Kevin Shelby and Britney Christie.

Learn how to move from dysregulation to regulation in your nervous system. This will be taught by our very own, Dr. Kevin Shelby and Britney Christie.

Feeling dysregulated can be the opposite of delightful, but it is important to remember that we are not going to be in a constant state of delight. Stress is a part of our human experience, and we believe you move through these experiences by attuning to the body (soma). The feeling of coming back home to a state of regulation can certainly bring a sense of peace and opens us up to receive the moments of delight all around us.

Partners in Care
An avenue of care for your staff that builds resilience, healthy rhythms, and deep connection to God, self, and others. A healthy staff leads to a thriving congregation or business.

We desire to partner with churches and businesses in the Memphis area to offer people ways to experience silence, solitude, stillness, and healing. We understand the toll that work, life, and ministry can take and having a healthy staff leads to a healthy company or ministry. We want to be a resource for you and for your staff.

Partners in Care enables you to empower and engage your staff and congregation in ways that will affect the overall experience for your staff and enhance staff culture.

Testimonial
"Moving in silence and solitude allowed me to hear my breath, listen more intently to God's word and know that He will never leave me. I'm human and sometimes my nerves and fears get the best of me, but this retreat allowed me to put the focus back on The Lord."
